Ok, if you want in on the 2009 Death Pool, send me 10$ via Full Tilt ( ferfer2323 ) or Pokerstars ( ferfer232323 ). Lists and money are due to me by Sunday, January 19th. Same rules as last year apply. I will repost those rules also.

GENERAL
1) Choose a set of 20 names of people that are somehow famous or otherwise known to the general public.
2) Choose a second set of 5 names for alternates that backfill your main roster when a position becomes available. A main roster spot becomes vacant when there is a confirmed death score.
3) Each person on your list must have a verified Date Of Birth, verifiable through public means such as Yahoo! Search or Wikipedia.
4) Your active list can contain up to 20 currently-living people. Upon a death from your active list, you can choose a name from your reserve roster to be moved to your active list to bring your total to 20 active. You do not add additional people to the reserve list.
5) Submitted rosters will be viewable to the public once the game starts (but not before, so don't post them in this thread!).

SCORING
1) You score 1 point for every year under the age of 100 that the person is at the time of their unfortunate demise. For example, a person that is 49 years old will score 51 points (100 - 49 = 51). Roster entries that are age 100 or older score 1 point only.
2) Entries on your reserve list are not eligible for points until they are activated.
3) In the event players are tied, the player with the fewest total deaths wins.
4) In the event that two or more players are still tied after that, then the one with the highest single scoring death wins.
5) Any remaining ties split the prize money

PAYOUTS
1) 5 or less players: 1st - 100%
2) 6-10 players: 1st - 70% 2nd - 30%
3) 10+ players 1st - 50% 2nd - 30% 3rd - 20%

GAME DURATION
1) The game begins at 01/20/2009 00:00 PST
2) The game ends at 12/31/2009 23:59 PST

GAME ENTRY
To be officially entered into the game, you must submit the following, no later than 01/19/2007.
1. A PM to me with your entry picks. Your PM should include two lists of names (20 active & 5 reserve), clearly indicating which is which
2. $10 entry fee (everything paid out to winners of course) (Payments accepted by: cash handed to me, poker transfer on PS or FT, paypal (PM me for address))

FAMOUS?
1) All names on the Death List must be generally accepted as famous or otherwise known to the general public.
2) There is some gray area on this, but the person must be known for themself, and not just for being associated with someone else. Some examples of this:
* Barbara Bush is the wife of George Bush, but she is a generally known person.
* Osama bin Laden's mom is known only for being OBL's mom. This is unacceptable.
3) Prisioners of any state government are acceptable except if they are executed. A Death Row prisioner that gets shivved in the shower is fine, but not by the electric chair. For example, Jeffrey Dahmer's death would have been eligible, but Saddam Hussein's would not have been.
